This is the second project that we have designed for this school. The first was for the Instituto Pedagógico (Pedagogical Institute), and this commission evolved as a result of the foregoing. The program for the Centro Artístico (Artistic Center) is a very stimulating one, and we took this opportunity to unify the west façade by incorporating a covered walkway 120 meters in length. Both buildings are now integrated by the same architectural language, since the Centro Artístico rescued a few syllables from the Instituto Pedagógico.
The bioclimatic criteria that guided the architecture of these two buildings contributed to attaining a homogenous climate welcomed by the users.
The uniform, natural light; the refreshing cross ventilation; and the generous, attractive apertures have all contributed to a close-knit relationship with the landscape and the sky, ever present in this latitude. The curves of the covered walkways respond to the recreational aspect that the student body should enjoy.
