The Hotel was built by the owners and it has 14 suites plus general services. It is located in the center of the Osa Peninsula in the southern pacific coast of Costa Rica. It is a boutique hotel known for its relation with the humid tropic’s nature and for the amount of fauna that can be appreciated, including 4 different kinds of monkeys, toucans, limpets, reptiles and other species. The flora is abundant and very lush.

The cabins were designed to achieve absolute privacy with excellent view and enjoy from there the fauna. They were built with local materials, mostly wood and Asterogyne martiana palms for the roofs. The absence of glass, phone and T.V bring a very special and appealing natural atmosphere to the hotel.

LAPARIOS has its own competitive standard and specially its location’s quality and architecture that goes unnoticed. Cabins were placed carefully on the slope of the hill.

Our job was to remodel the suites to standardize them and give them a hotel character. The kind of experience with the sublime nature demanded certain interventions that enhance its quality without damaging the existing things.

The access areas and bathrooms were modified and some walls were demolished to create a direct, permanent and close contact with nature and open and flowing spaces.

You can take a bath enclosed by trees and enjoy the surrounding nature. The touch of your feet with a flat stone boulder floor, while water falls from the shower, makes this an unforgettable experience. The quality of this experience repeats itself in the washbasin area.

The purpose of remodeling was to optimize the quality of the guest and nature’s relationship.

Now this is an enjoyable feeling in every room and it brought the relationship to a higher level, improving the intensity of the experience.
