| This is the fourth branch office we design for Banco de San José, for which we selected a corner lot located between the peripheral highway and an important commercial avenue. This building was designed to be centered in the lot, surrounded by three landscaped areas and parking areas. The design follows the expression and traditional language of the three previous bank agencies, thus creating an excellent corporate image of the Bank.
The project is developed on one level and the structure consists of three-dimensional rigid metal frames, diagonally interlocked to ensure the building’s stability.
The roof is designed as floating leaves mounted on the rigid frames, letting natural light pass through the controlled apertures, thus creating a space that is dominated by shade. The glass panes reflect different images.
This amazing experience, involving multiple visions, fills the space and incorporates the ambiguous and the simultaneous. We created a building that adds on possibilities and summons alternatives, whose spaces offer several interpretations that are neither static nor symmetric.
