The Cisco Systems regional office was planned for an area of 886 m2 on the first floor of the Office Center El Roble. According to what was asked, the area was supposed to be separated into an operational private zone and a place for clients and demonstrations. To the liberty of floor, it is added the freedom of choosing the workstation daily. It means that there are no fixed or assigned workplaces. Only the directors and their secretaries have them. There is no need of papers, notations, or personalization of the workplaces. This is possible with an advanced computerized system.
Some international rules were followed in the designed and operation of the office. A false elevated floor was built for all the office’s surface.
The transparency of the glass walls in the client’s zone gives to the office an amazing breadth and communication between the chambers. The opaque division between the zones provides them total visual independence, additional to the restricted and controlled access to the private operational zone.
The server room and Racks are visible from the client’s zone, where can be appreciated the devices that operate the computerize system and network.
The façades were left free, and no walls were built against them so the natural light would illuminate the largest possible area. The big windows, from floor to roof bring plenty of light most of the day.
