In a land plot confined between two adjoining buildings, that measures 9.50 meters wide and 15 meters long, I designed an office consisting of three open rings (three stories), surrounding a central garden. The main character of this landscaped area is a 10-meter high palm tree that crosses the vertical volume of the office space, and its base is planted in ferns.

Built in locally-found, simple materials, the exterior façade accentuates the simplicity and purity of the materials, through the colorful, linear alternation of the construction components: concrete blocks and bricks. This horizontal juxtaposition of the gray concrete blocks and the terracotta bricks dramatically enhances the façade.

In the interior, the coldness of metal is attenuated by the warm presence of concrete, creating an interesting contrast, in harmony with the spatial organization of the offices. A translucent glass structure mounted above the central garden, illuminates all the office space with a subtle glow and captures the ever-changing light of the tropical skies, created by the passing of white clouds that cover the sky and then again, disappear. This same structure is designed to allow the entrance of breeze, which ventilates and refreshes the office. This breeze moves the palm fronds. A staircase located at one side of the ring provides access and traffic flow to the upper levels, while restrooms are on the opposite side.
